When Kirsi was volunteering in Gbefi Tornu, she often saw pupils sitting three or four on a table because they didn't have chairs. They leaned their notebooks on their hands to write. It wasn't just in Gbefi that Kirsi noticed the lack of tables and chairs.
It seems to be a general problem in public schools.
In 2022, between May and July, we organized materials such as wood and nails and had them carpentered into tables and chairs by a local carpenter. Here, too, it was important to us that the village should contribute so that it is a joint project, so they procured the local carpenter.
We finally handed over the finished 193 tables and chairs to the school in Gbefi Tornu.
